8888677771 | Kareena Kapoor on why she and Saif Ali Khan never hid Taimur’s face from paps; reveals son once asked ‘Why do they click me? I am not famous’ | Bollywood News

Kareena Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan’s elder son Taimur Ali Khan set the ball rolling for star kids becoming a favourite of the paparazzi. He was the most photographed child and even had dolls made on him. At Express Adda, Kareena opened up about the trend and why as parents, they never hid their children’s face from the camera.

Calling the process ‘tough’, Kareena said that she and Saif felt that if they covered their child’s face, it would ‘reflect on his mind a lot more’. She said that her son would question why they are doing that, and hence her husband suggested that ‘let it be, we’ll deal with it’. The Jaane Jaan actor recalled that when Taimur started noticing that he was photographed when he was about four, he did ask his parents about it. And the question surprised her.

“He was quite smart because he knew that we were actors, as I had told him we were in the movies. And he just turned around and told me, ‘But I am not famous. Why are they clicking my picture?’” she beamingly shared. Kareena added that now he’s gotten used to it, and often just runs off with his head down. “But he knows that he’s not famous and he doesn’t like it,” she said, adding that they always felt that it was better this way than leaving a negative impact by hiding them away.

So if he’s playing football, somebody is clicking him. I think he’s just like now it’s ok, but he’s going on with his day and activity kind of thing,” Kareena Kapoor said.

Kareena Kapoor on instilling confidence in kids

The actor also discussed the perils of social media and the pressure to always look good. She mentioned how everyone today wants to look the same and also look ‘young forever’. Having accepted her age gracefully, Kareena said that she has realised that the assurance that they look great should come from their close ones.

“They have to feel a certain security. I think it just starts at home. You should give confidence to your child at whatever stage – eight, nine, ten, twenty, thirty. I think it’s important. I have realised that confidence starts at home. It’s like small little things that children do. If you smile and say, ‘God, that’s amazing’, I think it kind of just makes them feel a little confident.  So I can see that change when I do it [with my kids]. And of course, but when he goes wrong, you have to say that too,” Kareena Kapoor said.
