Airports are some of the most emotionally charged places as they witness so many reunions and goodbyes. While a lot of films have had an airport as a setting where a romantic proposal takes place in the climax, a man recently pulled it off in real life at Auckland Airport.

The man named Yashraj took the help of Auckland Airport authorities to propose to his girlfriend Riiya. The official social media accounts of Auckland Airport posted a video of the sweet proposal.
“Auckland Airport’s arrivals hall is a really special place. Every day emotional reunions take place here,” the video says in the text inserts. “So, it all started with an idea that I had cause knowing Riiya, she’s like full of life. So, we’ve known each other for eight years and we just clicked, and I knew that she is the one,” Yashraj is heard saying in the video.
Yashraj approached Auckland Airport authorities and asked them for help to surprise Riiya with a marriage proposal read out over the PA system. Yashraj even invited his family and friends to witness the proposal. Yashraj pre-recorded his marriage proposal, which played in the terminal after she arrived from Melbourne and she was completely taken by surprise. Yashraj’s family and friends held out banners with the words, “Will you marry me” as he got down on one knee. People cheered for the couple as Riiya accepted the proposal.
